Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has come under fire from British journalist Piers Morgan for benching Aaron Ramsdale ahead of the team’s Premier League match against Everton.
Arteta has decided to start the summer loan signing David Raya from Brentford.
When asked about the move, Arsenal’s manager told Sky, “I think I mentioned that we wanted a squad with two quality players in each position with different characteristics; we’ve got that now.”

In contrast, Morgan argued on X, “I don’t understand what Ramsdale has done to warrant being dropped. Havertz, sure, but Ramsdale has been nothing short of spectacular for us. Why put him through that?
