The Katsina State Government has removed Alhaji Abubakar Abdullahi-Ahmadu from his position as District Head of Kuraye.
According to the allegations, Abdullahi-Ahmadu presided over a marriage contract without obtaining the necessary medical certificates as mandated by law.
Director of Press Affairs Alhaji Abdullahi Aliyu-Yar’adua said in a statement that the decision was made at the suggestion of the Katsina Emirate council.
The Emirate council looked into the matter after receiving a petition.
It was discovered that Abdullahi-Ahmadu had officiated a marriage without the necessary medical certificates.
“One of the parties is HIV positive; the district head presided over the marriage without due checks,” the statement read. (NAN)
